Our cultural heritage is our identity.
Black ethnicity
Black Americans who are Descendants of American Chattel Slaves and Freedmen are incomparable. There are no people groups on this earth with an experience as unique and storied as ours. We are often imitated yet never duplicated. They want our culture but not our struggle. We have endured nearly five hundred years of ethnocide/genocide/ humanocide, and yet still we rise! Our ethnicity is an amalgamation. It makes us who we are. It's jazz, blues, and hip hop. It's greens, candied yams, and dressing. It's handbone, double Dutch, and hoops. It's a fade, a silk press, and plaits. It's throwin' snake eyes, throwin' bones, and throwin' down. It's all that jawn AND a bag of chips!
WE ALL WE GOT.
